Why are the packaging rules changing?

From 12 August 2026, new European Union rules on packaging and packaging waste, known as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) begin to apply across the EU.

The new regulation is designed to reduce packaging waste, encourage more sustainable packaging, improve recycling and create more consistent packaging requirements across European countries. It applies to businesses throughout the packaging and fulfilment chain, including companies that produce and ship products to customers.

Why are prints no longer signed?

As a small independent illustrator, these new requirements also affect the way I can fulfil orders to customers in Europe. To make sure my orders are handled in compliance with the new packaging requirements, I’m working with a third-party printing and fulfilment partner that manages the production, packaging and shipping of my prints. Because of this change, prints are sent without my handwritten signature. I know that a handwritten signature is a special part of owning an art print, and this wasn't an easy change for me to make.

Has the quality changed?

No. The quality remains the same. Your artwork is still produced as a fine art giclée print on Hahnemühle Etching paper, preserving the beautiful texture and fine detail of the original print experience.

Still made with love, just with a little help

I’m still the one behind every illustration, and every piece in the shop is my work. The third-party partner simply helps me produce and ship your order while I navigate these new European packaging requirements. ♡

In Short

The only difference is the handwritten signature. The artwork, paper, and giclée print quality remain the same.
